Q&A With…. John Fisk

This month we sat down with John Fisk, a Customer Service Agent on our Answering Service Care team since 2014.

What is your role with the company? 

We answer calls for our clients. We take messages. Some involve customer service, such as providing information, email or fax information or connecting the caller to the person they are calling.

Usually, I am assigned to a Northeast region that includes New York, New Jersey, Boston and Philadelphia. When we are busy, they might switch me over to different regions. Calls come in from all over, not just the region in which the client is located.

I work on a variety of accounts for all kinds of clients.

What is it like to work with this company?

We switched to a new facility in July, and it’s been wonderful.

The sense of belonging to a team has increased among all of us. We do a lot more

activities now than before, like pep rallies, birthdays and special events. It’s so cheerful and pleasant in our new environment.

Have you learned any important lessons while working here in this job?

I have gotten very good at listening and knowing not to take someone’s frustration or anger personally. My job is about helping the callers feel heard, and getting them the person or information they need. 

What kinds of things do you like to do outside of work?

I like to go to the beach, go out to dinner, to the movies (especially sci-fi!) and walking around in the beautiful parks here in South Florida.
