Q&A With…. Marco Vazquez

This month we sat down with Marco Vazquez, a Development Specialist with our Answering Service Team since August of 2015, and an answering service operator before that, since March of 2014.

What is your role with the company? 

I help sell the answering service to potential clients looking for someone to answer their phones. These companies are also looking for related services such as virtual receptionists and appointment scheduling.

These companies of all sizes call us with challenges. They know they need an answering service, but they aren’t always sure of what specific services they need. They call us with challenges, and we offer relevant and customized services. I ask a lot of questions and probe a lot to make sure it is a good fit for both parties.

During the first month of service with a new answering service client, we keep a connection with them so that we can personally attend to changes on services, features, scripting and other areas. We show them we are here for them, and we keep a good relationship so that moving forward they are aware of how we do business.

What is it like to work with this company?

From the beginning of my time here at Answering Service Care, people here treated me as part of their family. Many doors have been opened for me here, and I love working for this company. Now that I am in this role, I am learning more about the business as far as operations. I have much more insight into what we do for clients—and it is not just answering phones, it goes way beyond that.

I have never been in an environment like this before, and it is something I really like. 

Have you learned any important lessons while working here in this job?

I have learned a great deal about patience. It is a necessity in almost every role inside and outside of work. I have also learned how to take criticism constructively. I try not to take things personally. I take it positively and use it going forward. And I have learned to be more open-minded and not to keep to myself so much.

What kinds of things do you like to do outside of work?

I spend time with my family, this is very important to me.

I am also into music. I practice and play with instruments. When it comes to music, I enjoy experimenting with new things. I play many instruments, including the accordion, drums, guitar and four string bass.

I love technology, such as messing with computers, opening them up and figuring things out for myself. I am starting IT school to learn more about programming and web design.
