Our Team: Trisha Jeethan

Trisha Jeethan

When I started here in October of 2004, I was confident I would not make it through one year, but to my surprise I have made it though eight…

My first day on the floor, I was scared and nervous. Back then I was extremely shy and would sit away from   everyone. At the end of my shifts I raced home and cried, worried I would not make it.

As the days went by, I struggled through my daily routine. Luckily, I had co-workers who wanted me to succeed and soon started mentoring me so I could be a better agent.

One day as I was explaining my difficulties to Jane, and she told me that it was my choice how I wanted my day to go; I can let the mean callers get to me and have terrible day or I can kill them with kindness and have an awesome day. I decided to take her advice and noticed that my days went by easier when I was smiling and being friendly.

Without me even realizing, one year flew by and it was time for me to celebrate my first anniversary and I had several reasons to celebrate;  I now had a friendly personality and for the first time in my life I was able to step out of my own shadow.

Around this time a position opened up in MIS (which is now called Professional Services) and I decided to apply for it. To my disappointment, I was not chosen and even though I was discouraged, I decided not to give up.

Shortly after that, a team lead position became available. With no experience or knowledge I applied for the position. I was very skeptical but little did I it was the beginning of a new journey in my life.

The early years as a team lead were very challenging. I was constantly tested, after all I was new, inexperienced and to many I still had no backbone. It was an emotional and frustrating time for me but my friends always encouraged me that things would work out. Had it not been for their support and patience, I would not be where I am today.

Under the supervision of my three mentors; Jane, Joan and Cynthia I developed the confidence needed to be a team leader and as I performed my duties, I acquired the experience and knowledge I needed to effectively execute the position.

I am very grateful for everything that everyone has taught me. For the opportunities Michael has given me and for the experience I acquired here at Answering Service Care.

Now that the department has grown, and my title has matured from Team Leader to Senior Operations Manager, I understand why I came to work everyday, even when I was scared. I looked forward to work because I realized I was surrounded by great people who cared. All that I have been through made me into the woman I am today.

My journey here at Answering Service Care has been an adventure. There have been good times and bad times but in the end it was all worth it. I will never regret my decision to stay because this is who I am. I have gained so much more than I could have ever asked for; very good friends who are like family members and a career that I love.
